Florence Post, 81, of West Hartford, died Nov. 13. She was the wife of Philip Post. Born in Kovno, Lithuania, she was the daughter of Irving and Dr. Lea Newman. A Holocaust survivor, as a child she was imprisoned with her mother and siblings in the Kovno ghetto until 1944, when her mother escaped with her from the ghetto. She was then hidden by a Lithuanian couple on their farm until the end of the war. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, Michael Post of Big Bear Lake, Calif., Allison Ghamo and her husband Joe of West Hartford, and Aron Post and his wife Jessica of Needham, Mass.; her brother William Newman and his wife Joan of West Hartford; her sister-in-law Emily Honigberg of Athens, Ga.; her grandchildren, Max, Joey, Sam and Lana Ghamo, Shelby Post, Teddy and Olivia Post; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister Lana Newman.
