Morton Avery Ward, 90, of West Hartford, died Sept. 8. He was the widower of Beatrice (Hurwitz) Ward. Born in Hartford, he was the son of the late Harry and Isabella (Rosenfeld) Ward. He served in the U.S. Army at the Norwich Academy in Northfield, Vermont. He was a member of Beth El Temple of West Hartford, and a former member of Ados Israel and Beth Sholom Synagogues in Hartford. He is survived by his children, Barbara Ward-Zimmerman and her husband, Paul of Glastonbury, and Fred L. Ward of Seattle, Wash.; his granddaughters, Shira and Aliza Zimmerman; his partner Thelma Cohn; and his niece. He was also predeceased by his sister Elaine Libin.
