Two West Hartford couples to be honored by Bloomfield day school

BLOOMFIELD – Ann and Jeremy Pava, and Aviva and Matthew Braunshweiger, all of West Hartford will be honored at the 77th Annual Gala Dinner of the Bess & Paul Sigel Hebrew Academy on Tuesday, March 14 at The Emanuel Synagogue in West Hartford.

Recipients of the Bloomfield day school’s Star Award, the Pavas are longtime supporters of the community’s Jewish day schools. The couple was among the founders of the Hebrew High School of New England (HHNE), located in West Hartford and serving the Jewish communities of Greater Hartford, Greater New Haven and Springfield, Massachusetts. Ann served as the high school’s founding president and Jeremy as president from 2009 – 2011.

Aviva and Matthew Braunshweiger

A leader in day school education at both the local and national level, Ann Pava currently serves as a Sigel Academy vice president. She is also immediate past chair of National Women’s Philanthropy of the Jewish Federations of North America, and serves as annual campaign chair of the Jewish Federation of Greater Hartford. Jeremy Pava is a partner and chief financial officer of Aspen Square Management, a national real estate and property management firm. He is also a trustee of the Harold Grinspoon Foundation.

Aviva and Matthew Braunshweiger will receive the Academy’s New Leadership Award. The couple has been active at the school even before their three children, Elaine, Max and Sophia, became students there. An active member of the PTO, Aviva Braunshweiger is the driving force behind the school’s highly successful Purim Mishloach Manot project. She also sits on the board of Yedai Chesed of the Young Israel of West Hartford. Matthew Braunshweiger has served on the executive board of the Hebrew Academy and Young Israel of West Hartford, as well as various committees.

The gala will include cocktails, a buffet dinner and a silent auction.
