In November, the Bess and Paul Sigel Hebrew Academy in Bloomfield hosted a meet-and-greet to showcase its middle school and introduce to the community its new head of school, Rabbi Zev Silver. Middle schoolers showcased their knowledge with presentations on the subjects of math, science, social studies and Judaic studies; and guests enjoyed touring the school to get a feel for a typical day in the life of a Sigel Academy middle schooler. Those in attendance also had the opportunity to learn about several robust curricula implemented across the board, including Singapore Math and the Superkids reading program. Finally, Matan Doron, class of ’13, gave a heartfelt speech to those gathered, emphasizing the importance of supporting Jewish day school education.
