Students at Solomon Schechter Academy in New London had fun dressing up as an assortment of characters – singing latkes and more! – when they presented a musical Chanukah production for family and friends.
In Norwalk…
Nitzan Nursery School of Beth El Synagogue in Norwalk invited family members to share in the school’s song-filled Chanukah celebration. The story of Chanukah was acted out with puppets and, of course, what’s a Chanukah party without lots and lots of latkes!
In West Hartford…
Hoffman SummerWood Community in West Hartford hosted its fifth annual Menorah Exhibit featuring 100 menorahs belonging to residents. Family and friends enjoyed latkes and Chanukah music while they perused the menorahs, many of which were treasured family heirlooms. “The exhibit reminds us all of our family traditions in past years and brings back a lot of memories,” said SummerWood resident David Silverman, pictured here (center) with (l to r) Marvin Silverman, Allison Levi, and Gabi and Zack Silverman.
In West Hartford…
Teams of dedicated Jewish Children Service Organization (JCSO) volunteers, headed by co-chairs Joyce Libbin and Joanne Pasternack, shopped, wrapped and delivered Chanukah gifts to 47 Jewish children in the Hartford area last month. Made possible by funding provided by JCSO, along with contributions and gifts from students of The Emanuel Synagogue Religious School and Solomon Schechter Day School of Greater Hartford. In Glastonbury
Kids from the Chabad Jewish Center of Glastonbury lit up the faces of the elderly and the infirm when they visited lots of local hospitals, health centers, and homes for the elderly during Chanukah.
