Joseph Brandes, Ph.D., 88, of West Hartford, formerly of Fair Lawn, N.J., died Jan. 12. He was the husband of Margot Brandes. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, among them his daughter Susan Margolis and her husband Philip of Glastonbury.
