Hanging JSS quotes in the sukkah

“Be a part of it” is a mantra (of sorts) at Merkaz Community High School for Judaic Studies, where Jewish teens from throughout Fairfield County meet on Tuesday nights for interesting classes, programs and social activities — such as the yoga and meditation class led by Niema Hirsch, and a talk by Holocaust survivor Peter Szilegy, who was among the twin experiments conducted by the notorious Dr. Mengele at Auschwitz.

In October, teens interviewed elderly residents of Jewish Senior Services (JSS), wrote their quotes on blank CDs and then, as pictured here, hung them as decorations in the sukkah.
