Marilyn (Broder) Shavelson of Farmington, died Sept. 19. Born in Newark, N.J., she was the widow of Marvin Shavelson. Raised in West Orange, N.J., she was the daughter of the late Helen (Sobel) and Abraham Broder. She was a member of Congregation B’nai Jeshurun in Short Hills, N.J. She is survived by her children, Allen Berger and his wife Rebecca, Richard Berger, Helen Kronman and her husband Bruce, and Ruth Sigal and her husband Michael; her grandchildren, Rachel Berger, Josh Berger and his wife Celia, Marsha Ackerman and her husband Bryan, Sara Riedinger and her husband Jason, Eric Kronman and his wife Jamie, Moriah Allen and her husband Travis, Mark Kronman, Michael Berger, Amy Sigal and Stacey Sigal; her great-grandchildren, Ariana Riedinger, Elizabeth Kronman, Sadie Ackerman, Caroline Kronman, Hayden Ackerman, Willow Riedinger and Eleana Berger; her sister Renee Parvin; and her brother Robert Broder. She was also predeceased by her brother, Stanley Broder, and her daughter-in-law, Rebecca Berger.
