Honoring Hartford Heroes

Members of the Young Israel of West Hartford commemorated the 15th anniversary of the 9/11 terror attack that brought down the twin towers of New York’s World Trade Center, killing thousands, by paying tribute to local firefighters. The congregation, explained its spiritual leader Rabbi Tuvia Brander, wanted to “honor our local firefighters and express our gratitude for [the firefighters’] heroic efforts that keep us safe and secure.”

After meeting at the Young Israel in the morning, where they decorated ‘thank you’ cards, the group headed over to Fire Station 4 to present the firefighters with the cards, as well as delicious treats to brighten their day!
