Book Report In Bloomfield

On Wednesday, Sept. 14, the seventh-grade class of the Bess and Paul Sigel Hebrew Academy in Bloomfield took a field trip to the Barnes and Noble store in Canton and ‘shopped ‘til they dropped.’ That is, the middle schoolers had the enviable task of spending $1,500 to buy books for all reading levels that will be housed in their school library. The book-buying venture was launched by seventh-grader Eliana Doron of Simsbury as her bat mitzvah project. Doron baked and sold cookies over a period of several months. Her classmates have now joined her in taking ownership of this project.
