ADL to honor the Hoffman family and Ray Allen

HARTFORD — The Anti-Defamation League (ADL) will honor the Hoffman family of Hoffman Auto Group and NBA Champion Ray Allen at the 2016 Greater Hartford Torch of Liberty Award Reception Gala to be held Thursday, Sept. 29, 5:30 p.m. in Hartford. ADL National Director and CEO Jonathan Greenblatt will deliver the keynote address.

The Torch of Liberty Award recognizes “outstanding citizens who contribute to building strong communities that are open to all people without regard to race, religion, ethnicity or sexual orientation.”

The Hoffman family has long been leaders both in the Jewish and general communities.

Ray Allen is a ten-time NBA All-star, two time NBA champion, and Olympic gold medalist. The former UCONN Husky his Ray of Hope Foundation assists with sports-related, community-based programs to help children in need reach their full potential. HIs commitment to social justice is reflected when he regularly takes family, friends and teammates to the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum in order to pass along its ‘universally relevant’ message.

ADL national director and CEO Jonathan Greenblatt is an accomplished entrepreneur with experience in the private, public and non-profit sectors. After his first year at the helm of ADL he was recognized in the NonProfit Times 2016 “Power & Influence Top 50” list.
