The West Hartford Senior Center in Bishops Corner is introducing two new programs that will both be held on Thursdays, beginning Sept. 8 and running through Oct. 13. They will be led by Senior Center member Connie Smilowtiz who holds Masters in Social Work and Masters in Dance/Movement Therapy and Spirituality degrees.

Hebrew for Beginners will be held 10 – 11 a.m. Participants will learn the basics of Hebrew vocabulary and understand the structrure and meaning of words, as well as the fundamentals of Hebrew grammar.

A Taste of Yiddish will be held 11:15 a.m. – 12:15 p.m. Participants will enjoy simple Yiddish conversation, and will learn some basic vacabulary. No Yiddish is necessary, though a little is helpful.
