Lewis Silverman (aka “Louie the Lug”), 79, of Cheshire, died July 10. He was the husband of Louise (Bens) Silverman. Born in New Haven, he was the son of the late Benjamin and Anna (Papoosha) Silverman. He served in the 82nd Airborne Division of the U.S. Army. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Erika Reilly of Wallingford, and Tracey Silverman of St. Petersburg, Fla.; his step-daughter, Dana Johansen of Menlo Park, Calif.; his grandchildren, Benjamin Silverman; a niece and several nephews. He was also predeceased by his sister Ilene Burlakoff.
