Cyvia Scharmett, of West Hartford, formerly of New Haven, died July 16. Born in New Haven, she was the daughter of the late George and Ruth (Halper) Scharmett. She was a member of Congregation B’nai Jacob in New Haven. She was predeceased by her brother Munsey Scharmett Epstein Horwitz. She is survived by her nephew Richard Epstein and his wife Debra of Milford; her niece Jill Jones and her husband Gary of West Hartford; her great-nieces and nephews, Kate (Adam) Fierman, Emily Epstein, Herbie (Michelle) Epstein, Harrison, Ethan and Aaron Jones; and several great-great-nephews.
