Francine Greenstein Liftig, 93, of Avon and Sarasota, Fla., died July 21. She was the widow of Dr. Alvin Liftig. Born in New Britain, she was the daughter of the late Dr. Charles Greenstein and Dorothy Ziering Greenstein., moved to Avon in 1953 where they raised two sons, and where she was President of the Avon Woman’s Club, a member of the Connecticut Pen Women’s Association, and the West Hartford Art League. Until recently, she served on the Board of the Evergreen Cemetery, Avon. She was also predeceased by her sister Helen Chestney. She is survived by her sons, Dr. Robert Liftig and his wife Inez of Westport, and Dr. Rick Liftig and his wife Kathleen of West Hartford; and her grandchildren, Anya Liftig of Milford, Dorothy Martin (David) of Boston, Kevin Liftig (Allison) of Cromwell, and Alyssa Liftig, of Boston.
