Bi-Cultural Day School appoints director of admissions

STAMFORD — Bi-Cultural Day School in Stamford has announced the appointment of Denise Rafailov as director of admisssions.

A native of London, England, Denise Rafailov earned a BA in English Literature and Spanish from Manchester University; an MA in Jewish Studies from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, and an MA in Education from the University of Bridgeport.

Rafailov is a qualified English and language-arts teacher and has worked with children as a volunteer at several organizations, including the Stamford Jewish Community Center JumpStart program for two-year-olds with special needs. She was honored as the 2015 Stamford JCC Volunteer of the Year for chairing the Sara Walker Nursery School’s annual Star Night fundraiser.

Before entering the field of education, Rafailov was manager of corporate communications at eMusic and Warner Music Group. She has taught at Bi-Cultural, the Academy of Information Technology and Engineering in Stamford, and Temple Sholom in Greenwich.

She lives in Stamford with her husband and their three children.
