Steven A. Sternberg, 70, of Manchester, died May 14, 2016. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., he was the son of the late Charles H. and Sylvia J. (Snyder) Sternberg. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1965-1969, and was shot twice and injured while serving in Vietnam during that war. He was an active member of Temple Beth Hillel in South Windsor. He is survived by his grandchildren, William (Billy Bob) and Brooke (Babsie Blue), and Zachary and Makayla Smith; his former wife Darlene Sternberg of Vernon; his step-children, Jason Smith and his wife Jill of South Windsor, and Nikki Burinskas of Vernon; his sister Maralyn Steeg and her husband Frank of White Plains, N.Y.; a niece and nephew and their families.
