Samuel G. Merriam, 98, formerly of Fairfield, formerly of New Haven, died April 17. He was the widower of Rose (Lazaroff) Merriam. He was the son of the late Anna and Jacob Merriam. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II, stationed in Guam. He is survived by his children, Larry Merriam and his wife Sheila of Easton, and Arnold Merriam of New Haven; his grandchildren, Jill Merriam (Rob) Dulitsky, Jeffrey (Emily), Daniel, Rachel, Eli (Soo Hyun), Jessie (Darina) Sophie, Ben and Andrew; and his great-grandchildren, Brady and Carly Dulitsky, Cole, Phin, Asher, Louie, Kai and Winston Merriam. He was also predeceased by his sister, Frieda Merriam, and his brother, Nathan Merriam.
