High Honors

More than 250 people turned out recently to honor Rabbi Benjamin and Dorene Scolnic, and Hyla and Barry Vine, at the Jewish Family Service of New Haven’s (JFS) 75th anniversary fundraising event. The event, held March 26 at Temple Beth Sholom in Hamden, recognized the two couples for their lifetime of contributions to the Jewish community and especially for their work on behalf of JFS.  Proceeds from the event will benefit the JFS Emergency Assistance Fund, which serves families in crisis.

CAP: At the JFS fundraiser were: (l to r) Barry and Hyla Vine, JFS Board President Cindy Papish Gerber, JFS Executive Director Jonathan Garfinkle, and Rabbi Benjamin and Dorene Scolnic.
