Rep. David Baram recognized by homecare groups

HARTFORD – State Representative David Baram of Bloomfield/Windsor recently received an award from the Connecticut Homemaker and Companion Association and Home Care Association of America Connecticut Chapter. The Award recognizes Baram’s leadership on issues related to seniors and those needing home care services.

As co-chair of the General Law Committee, which has cognizance over consumer protection, licensing and liquor laws, Baram has helped address concerns through the passage of legislation involving home care contracts and notice requirements, 90-day prescription refills, Medwatch prescription reporting, protection against variable electric rates, consumer protection against fraud, home registry transparency, a patients’ bill of rights, and prescription labeling.

“I am honored to receive this recognition and pledge to continue my efforts to protect the rights of our seniors and homebound population so that they can enjoy the highest quality of life without being defrauded or exploited,” said Representative Baram.
