“Charlie Brown” comes to life in West Hartford

WEST HARTFORD – Charlie Brown, Snoopy, Lucy and the rest of the gang immortalized in the popular comic strip, “Peanuts,” were brought to life on stage on Wednesday, Feb. 3 at the Mandell JCC in West Hartford – thanks to student members of the Hebrew High School of New England (HHNE) Drama Club. The club presented a hit performance of Charles Gesner’s “You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown,” a musical comedy that chronicles the events in a day in the life of Charlie Brown and his imaginative beagle Snoopy. The play, starring HHNE junior Natan Glahn as Charlie Brown, was directed by HHNE senior Lauren Rosenay. “I’m extremely proud of the cast and crew,” said Rosenay, who is headed to UConn in September where she will major in theater studies in the School of Fine Arts. “I am honored to have worked with such a lively and enthusiastic group of people.”

HHNE’s Head of General Studies, Dr. Richard Nabel, agreed. “The cast and crew of “Charlie Brown” were absolutely sensational,” he said just moments after the performance. “We forget just how capable our students can be when they focus their talents and energy.”
