Lori and Larry Adler of South Windsor, and Cathy and Jack Scanlon of Wilmington, Del. announce the engagement of their children, Steven Daniel Adler and Melissa Ann Scanlon.

The future groom will graduate Temple Law School in the spring and will join the firm of Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom. He is the grandson of Frances and the late Leon Prague, and Marian and the late Manfred Adler.

The future bride is studying to be a nurse anesthetist. She is the granddaughter of Odette DeSio Hartenauer and the late Gerhard Hartenauer, and Alberta Holohan Scanlon and the late John Scanlon.

The couple resides in Philadelphia, Penn. An August wedding is planned.
