MELNICK

Harry S. Melnick, 92, of Avon, died on Nov. 4. He was the widower of Frances Melnick. Born in Hartford, he was the son of the late Morris and Lena Melnick. He served in the U.S. Army Air Forces during World War II and was an eyewitness to the first nuclear detonation at White Sands, New Mexico on July 16, 1945. He is survived by his son, Mitchell J. Melnick and his wife Kim; his grandson Dylan J. Melnick of Avon; his brothers, Saul Melnick and Seymour Melnick, both of West Hartford; his sister, Selma Budkofsky of West Hartford; and many nieces and nephews. He was also predeceased by his brother, Isadore Melnick. HEBREW FUNERAL ASSOCIATION
