Supporting Holocaust education

On Tuesday, Sept. 1, the Emanuel Synagogue Brotherhood made a donation to the Maurice Greenberg Center for Judaic Studies at the University of Hartford in support of the Center’s Holocaust Educators Conference. Scheduled to be held at the university this fall, “Teach for the Future: Holocaust Education in the 21st Century” is expected to draw teachers from throughout Southern New England as well as New York. Pictured here is Prof. Avinoam Patt, associate director of the Greenberg Center (center) accepting the donation from the Brotherhood President Ken Malley (right) and Chief Fundraiser Saul Shemkovitz.
