Jennifer Klau and Len Felson were elected co-presidents of Beth David Synagogue in West Hartford at the shul’s annual meeting held earlier this summer. The two will lead the Modern Orthodox synagogue for a term of two years.
Klau, a Boston native, has been a resident of West Hartford since 1996. A member of Beth David since 2006, she is involved in bicycle advocacy, serves on committees of the Mandell Jewish Community Center of Greater Hartford and is a life member of Hadassah and the National Council of Jewish Women. Klau, who holds a Ph.D. in kinesiology from the University of Connecticut, is married to Daniel Klau, a Hartford attorney and Bloomfield native. The couple’s three children graduated from the Bess and Paul Sigel Hebrew Academy in Bloomfield. Felson, who grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area, has lived in West Hartford since 1989. He has been a member of Beth David since 2010. A writer and former reporter for The Hartford Courant, Felson’s articles on the Jewish world have appeared in Tablet, the Jewish Telegraphic Agency and leading Jewish magazines, as well as the Jewish Ledger. He is an active member of The Mussar Institute. Felson is married to Julia Rosenblum, a retired certified public accountant. Their three children graduated from West Hartford public schools.
