Fighting hunger in West Hartford

Campers from the Mandel JCC Camp Shalom learned about the fight to end hunger when they took an educational tour of the Jewish Family Service’s Anja Rosenberg Kosher Food Pantry in West Hartford one recent afternoon. Facilitated by the food pantry’s coordinator, Shari Cantor, 28 campers learned what it means to go hungry through an eye-opening program that included a hunger-focused game of Pictionary that reinforced the reality that hunger doesn’t discriminate. The campers also shopped at the Crown Market and donated 177 food items with a value of over $300 to help feed the hungry.
