Harold Leo Mindell, 89, died May 26. He was the husband of Constance (Lobenthal) Mindell. Born in Hartford, he was the son of the late Max and Helen (Wohl) Mindell. He served in the U.S. Army in the 86th (Black Hawk) Infantry Division in Camp Livingston, La., where he became a first scout and sniper in a rifle platoon. He was deployed to France and subsequently to Germany, where he engaged in combat from Cologne to Austria. He was a member of Beth El Temple in West Hartford. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Cindy Mindell, Andrea Levitt and her husband David, and Michael Mindell; his grandchildren, Leora Wong, and Henry and Phoebe Levitt. He was also predeceased by his brother, Al, and his sister, Simme. WEINSTEIN MORTUARY
