Marvin L. Smernoff, 71, of Bloomfield, formerly of New Haven, died Feb. 3 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was the husband of Ina Kaplan Smernoff. He was the son of the late Robert and Ida (Goldblatt) Smernoff. He was a graduate of the UConn School of Business and was currently the Chief Administrative Officer of Workers Compensation of the State of CT. In addition to his wife of 46 years, he is survived by a son, Robert Smernoff and his fiancé, Carrie Flannery; a grandson, Ian; and a brother-in-law, Mark and his wife, Sandy Kaplan.
