Dr. Abigail (Abby) M. Zern, formerly of West Hartford, recently graduated AVMA-accredited Murdoch University’s School of Veterinary Medicine and Surgery in Perth, Western Australia, specializing in large animals.

A graduate of Hall High School in 1999, Zern also holds degrees from the University of Maryland and Curtin University of Technology in Perth. She published her dissertation, Effects of Autumn and Winter Calving on Feedlot Performance and Carcase Characteristics, in 2003.

She is the daughter of Howard R. Zern, a retired executive vice president of Simsbury Bank, and Dr. Hilary E. Freedman, who reside in West Hartford, where they are members of Temple Beth El, and the late Anne M. Zern of Simsbury.
