FRIDAY, JANUARY 16

Stamford – Shabbat service honoring Dr. Martin Luther King with guest speaker Rabbi Phil Schechter, who was active in the Civil Rights Movement while he was assistant rabbi at Temple Oheb Shalom in Baltimore. He was arrested for trespassing at a segregated amusement park along with an interracial protest group that included Roman Catholic, Protestant and Jewish clergy. Westport – MLK Shabbat service honoring the legacy and teachings of Dr. Martin Luther King, with guest speaker Rev. Dr. Anthony Bennett of Mount Aery Baptist Church in Bridgeport; 6:30 p.m.; Temple Israel, 14 Coleytown Road.

SUNDAY, JANUARY 18

MONDAY, JANUARY 19

New Canaan – Annual Service of Remembrance in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King; sponsored by Interfaith of New Canaan, including the New Canaan Jewish Group; keynote speaker, Rev.
