Rose (Caplan) Smolen, 98, of Orange, died Dec. 11. She was the widow of Daniel Smolen. Born in Montreal, Canada, she was the daughter of the late Aron and Ester Caplan. She is survived by her children, Michael Smolen and his wife, Linda, of Stillwater, Ok., Susan Smolen of West Haven and Rhona Offenbach and her husband, Michael, of Great Neck, N.Y.; her grandchildren, Leslie, Seth and his wife Elizabeth, and Amy; and her great-grandchildren, Danielle, Kaleb and Andrew.
