Rabbinic confab in Brooklyn

Rabbi Yisrael Deren of Stamford (front row, 4th from right), was among 4,200 Chabad rabbis from around the world who gathered in New York in late November for the International Conference of Chabad-Lubavitch Emissaries, an annual event aimed at reviving Jewish awareness and practice around the world. Here, a portion of the participants pose for a photo in front of Chabad-Lubavitch world headquarters in Brooklyn. This year’s conference carries an added significance as millions around the world mark the 20th anniversary of the passing of the Rebbe, Rabbi Menachem M. Schneerson, of blessed memory, the movement’s leader who is considered by many to be the most influential rabbi in modern history. Photo credit: Chabad.org / Adam Ben Cohen
