Saluting Israeli soldiers in Stamford

Over 130 guests were on hand to honor former IDF soldier Avi Dichter, chairman of the Foundation for the Benefit of Holocaust Victims in Israel, at the Friends of Israel Defense Forces (FIDF) Westchester/CT Chapter’s Annual Fundraiser held at the Stamford Marriot Hotel in Stamford on Sunday, Oct. 26. “I’d like to just say thank you,” said Staff Sgt. Elle. “Thank you from all of the IDF soldiers who have benefited from your amazing organization and generosity in one way or another. Even from afar, you’re making such a difference to the soldiers who are protecting our beautiful little country.”

Among those in attendance were Barbara and Alan Phillips, who served as master of ceremonies; FIDF national executive director Maj. Gen. (Res.) Meir Klifi-Amir; FIDF CEO Alan E. Scholnick; FIDF national director and CEO emeritus, Maj. Gen. (Res.) Yitzhak (Jerry) Gershon; FIDF Tri-State executive director, Richard Goldstein; and FIDF Westchester/CT director, Anat Chavkin.
