Celebrating assisted living

Residents of Hoffman SummerWood Community marked National Assisted Living Week in October with a series of celebratory events built around the theme “The Magic of Music.” Kicking off the week on Monday, Oct. 20 was a tribute to the legendary Frank Sinatra by singer George Lyons; residents took to the microphone on Tuesday for an afternoon of karaoke led by Michael Roy of Vin Avallone Productions, who volunteered his services; Wednesday carried a Celtic theme, with a bagpipe performance by Pat Whelan, and a harp performance by recording artist Haley Hewitt; and Thursday celebrated the music (and food!) of Italy. Residents put the finishing touches on the week on Friday, with a dance party starring SummerWood staff.
