SCOTT

Selma “Simmie” Allinson Scott, 98, of 11089 Applegate Circle, Boynton Beach, Fla., devoted wife for almost 60 years of Nathaniel (Scotty) Scott, died suddenly on Oct. 25, 2014. Born Sept. 15, 1916 in New Haven, she was a daughter of the late Jacob and Sophie Allinson. Beloved mother of Bill and Martha Scott, and Tina and Dick Brogadir. Dear sister of the late Sarah Cohen, Carl, and Elihu Allinson. Dear sister-in-law of Stanley and Betty Scott, and the late Ralph and Jeanette Scott. Cherished grandmother of Seth and Dorie Brogadir, Josh and Becca Brogadir, Jill and Scott Boussy, Danny and Sarah Scott. Treasured great-grandmother “GG” of Jake, Sophie, Julia, Nathan, and Norah. Simmie was an elementary school teacher and guidance counselor in the Milford School District for 32 years. She taught Sunday school at Congregation B’nai Jacob for 20 years. She was a longtime member of Congregation B’nai Jacob and Oaklane Country Club in Woodbridge, and Temple Anshei Shalom in Delray Beach and Indian Spring Country Club in Boynton Beach. Simmie was an active life member of Hadassah, serving as fundraising vice president and chapter president. She attended 14 National Hadassah Conventions, including two in Israel. She was an avid tennis player and golfer, loved to travel, read, and knit. She was a vibrant and energetic woman who lived her life to the fullest. She loved and was devoted to her family and friends. She will be missed dearly.
