Sam Boris, 106, of West Hartford, died Oct. 6. He served in the U.S. Army as a sergeant during World War II. He is survived by his daughter, Beth of West Hartford; his nieces, Joy Platt and Faith Helene of West Hartford; his nephew, Alan Hurwitz, of Amherst, Mass.; a grand-niece and great-grand-nephew, and several great-grandnieces.
