“Ask the Candidates” – Malloy, Foley and Visconti to address the Jewish community Oct. 5

“Ask the Candidates,” a political forum focusing on the upcoming election, featuring the three major candidates for governor, will be held at Beth El Temple, located at 2626 Albany Ave. in West Hartford, on Sunday, Oct. 5.  The event, which is free and open to the public, will begin at 10 a.m. with light refreshments, followed by the forum at 11 a.m. WFSB news anchor Dennis House will serve as emcee.

A question and answer session will follow the presentations by Governor Dannel Malloy (D), Tom Foley (R) and Joe Visconti (Ind.).

“Ask the Candidates” is sponsored by the Jewish Community Relations Council (JCRC) of the Jewish Federation of Greater Hartford, the Jewish Federation Association of Connecticut (JFACT), the Greater Hartford Rabbinic Association, Beth El Temple and The Emanuel Synagogue.

In addition to “Ask the Candidates,” several other political forums addressing the Jewish community are planned for October.

Tuesday, Oct. 14, 7 p.m. – “Meet and Greet” with candidates for the state legislature at the Mandell JCC, 335 Bloomfield Ave., West Hartford. An informal gathering, followed by coffee and dessert, hosted by the JCRC of the Jewish Federation o f Greater Hartford, JFACT, the Jewish Association for Community Living, Jewish Family Services and Hebrew Health Care.

Sunday, Oct. 19, 6 p.m. – Forum with Connecticut 5th Congressional District candidates, Congresswoman Elizabeth Esty (D) and Mark Greenbert (Ind.), at the Avon Senior Center, 635 West Avon Rd., Avon. Candidates will respond to voter concerns. Hosted by JCRC of the Jewish Federation of Greater Hartford, in partnership with JFACT and the Mandell JCC in the Valley.
