Max Crystal, 87, of Bloomfield, died Sept. 19. Born in Warsaw, Poland, he was the son of the late Josef and Faiga Crystal. He escaped the Warsaw Ghetto and fled to Russia. He was imprisoned in a number of work camps in the Ural Mountains. He was predeceased by his sister, Irene Springer. He is survived by his nephew, Felix Springer; his niece, Helene Springer of West Hartford; and his grandnieces, Shira Springer of Cambridge, Mass. and Dena Springer of Woodbridge.
