Elaine Michel, 93, of Chester, formerly of Hamden, died August 5. She was the widow of Merritt Michel. Born in Waterbury, she was the daughter of the late Maurice and Lillian Friedman. She is survived by her daughters, Harriett Johnson and her husband John Honyotski, and Wendy Beni and her husband William; her sister-in-law, Bernice Goldberg; her grandchildren, Jill Coté, Lynn Lippia, Peter Whitten, Karen Liberatore and Robin Katz; and her great-grandchlidren, Jason Honyotski, Callie and Madison Liberatore, Luc and Jocelyn Coté and Samantha and Jadyn Katz.
