Shirley (Goldberg) Chain, 87, of New Haven, died July 20. She was the widow of Harold Chain. Born in New Haven, she was a daughter of the late Hyman and Celia (Weiner) Goldberg. She is survived by her children, Susan Woodyard and her husband Alan of Houston, Tex., Valerie Chain of New Haven, and Ellen DePaola and her husband Peter of North Haven; her sister-in-law Adele Abeshouse of Md.; her grandchildren, Adam and Josh Woodyard, and Andrea and Tony DePaola; and her great-grandson Maddox Woodyard. She was predeceased by her siblings, Eva (Eli) Rozycki, Kate (Abe) Margolies, Frances (Max) Smith, Abe (Ethel) Goldberg. ROBERT E. SHURE FUNERAL HOME
