Miriam “Mim” Cooper, z”l, 96, of West Hartford, died May 1. Born in New London, she was the daughter of the late Chaim and Rachel (Bromberg) Cooper. She served in the U.S. Army for five years, attaining the rank of 1st Lieutenant. She was a member for many years of Beth Hillel Synagogue in Bloomfield and the former Congregation B’nai Shalom in Newington. She was predeceased by her four siblings and several beloved nephews, a niece, and a great-nephew. She is survived by her friends, Gary Tobenkin and his wife Susan of Hamden, and Helen Steiner and her husband Jonas of West Hartford, and their children, as well as numerous great-nephews, great-nieces and long-time friends.
