Harry B. Schaechter, 85, of West Hartford died March 25. He was the widower of Ida (Smith) Schaechter. Born in Langensalsa, Germany, he was the son of Arnold and Ruth Schaechter. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He is survived by his daughters, Judith and her husband Michael of Arlington, Ma., and Lauren and her husband Andrew of Weatogue; his grandchildren, Alana, Deanna and Sa; his sister Susi Delldonna of Middletown; and several nieces and nephews.
