Rebecca Govrin Jacobson, 95, wife of the late Harry A. Jacobson, passed away at Yale New Haven Hospital on Feb. 15. She was the devoted and loving mother of Susan E. Jacobson of New Haven and Dr. Stuart A. Jacobson of Fairfield. She also leaves a cherished granddaughter Mia Gabrielle Jacobson of Easton, and Evanston, Ill. Daughter of the late Samuel and Sophie Sudarsky Govrin, she was predeceased by her brothers, Solomon Govrin and Jacob Govrin and her sisters, Jean Govrin Alderman and Sarah Govrin Rubin. A lifelong New Haven resident, she was a graduate of Commercial High School Class of 1935 where she participated in many academic and athletic activities. Rebecca was a commercial artist, who studied with the late Charles Hubbard, a prominent graphic designer. She was noted for her artistic ability, keen intelligence, natural beauty, sense of humor, love of classical music, and compassion for others. She instilled great values in her children and took pride in their accomplishments. She was loved dearly and will be missed by many. Rebecca was truly a very special person!
