EICHLER

Aviva Weisel Eichler, formerly of Hartford and West Hartford, died March 2 in Beer Sheva, Israel. She was the wife of Dr. David Eichler. Born in Patterson, N.J., she was the daughter of Helen Weisel and the late Alfred Weisel. A graduate of the Yeshiva of Hartford and Conard High School, she received a B.S. from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, an M.S. from Harvard University, and a Ph.D. in neuroscience from Ben-Gurion University of the Negev in Israel. She authored numerous scientific articles and worked as an editor and translator of scientific papers. In addition to her husband and mother, she is survived by four sons, Maor (Hemdat), Raanan (Hayah), Ari, and Noam; five grandchildren, Rachel, Yoel, Shani, Naama, and Itai, all of Israel; two brothers, David Weisel (Barbara) of Potomac, Md. and Hillel Weisel (Audra), of Seymour; and a sister, Ilana Weisel, of Silver Spring, Md.
