WEST HARTFORD – Hoffman SummerWood Community residents and staff gathered recently to celebrate four awards that will soon be added to the SummerWood “Wall of Fame.”

On a national level, the West Hartford assisted living community received the Program to Spotlight Award from the Assisted Living Federation of America (ALFA) for the program they developed called Memorial Gathering. SummerWood resident Lucille Mandell also received an honorable mention from ALFA for her submission to the Senior Living Art Showcase.

At the state level, Transportation Associate Jimmie Fleeting received an Outstanding Resident Service Award from the Connecticut Assisted Living Association (CALA) for his exemplary service. SummerWood also received an award for its lime cupcakes and display at CALA’s Annual Cupcake Competition.
