Avital Rosen and Jonathan Zagha

Louis and Sharon Rosen of Shelton announce the engagement of their daughter, Avital Rosen, to Jonathan Michael Zagha, son of Morris and Judy Zagha of Ocean, N.J.

The future bride is the granddaughter of the late Irving and Sandra Rosen of Philadelphia, PA, and Herman and Sheila Lewis of Valley Stream, N.Y. She has two younger sisters, Mira (married to Jonathan Jaekle) and Eliana.

A graduate of Bunnell High School in 2001, she earned a Bachelor degree from the Hartt School of Music at the University of Hartford in vocal music education in 2005. She recently completed her Master of Arts in musicology degree from the City College of New York and is currently a music teacher for the Lower School and Early Childhood Center at The Ramaz School in New York City.

The future groom is the grandson of Rose and the late Ralph Zagha of Ocean, N.J., and the late Ezra and Esther Dayan of Brooklyn, N.Y. He has three brothers, Ralph, and his wife Stacy, Eddie, and David, two nephews and a niece. A 1998 graduate of the Hillel Yeshiva High School in Deal, N.J., he earned a Bachelor degree in economics with a minor in international business from Brandeis University in 2002. He received his J.D. degree from the Fordham University School of Law in 2005, and is currently a partner at the Manhattan law firm of Foran Glennon Palandech Ponzi & Rudloff.

The couple, who met on JDate, currently reside in Jersey City, N.J. Their wedding will be held in New Jersey in March 2014.  As avid baseball fans, Avital (a fan of the Red Sox) and Jonathan (a San Francisco Giants fan) have not yet decided for which team their children will root.
