William Berman, 92, of Hamden, died July 22. He was the husband of Florence (Irwin) Berman. Born in Estil, S.C., he was the son of the late Solomon and Ida (Cantor) Berman. A World War II Army veteran, he was a recipient of the Purple Heart. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, Chuck Berman and his wife Melanie of Rowayton, and his grandchildren, Brooke, Dan and Ned. He was also predeceased by his siblings, Edna Polecek, Josephine Greenberg and Florence Erhlich. SHURE FUNERAL HOME.
