Adam J. Reiser of West Hartford has accepted an appointment to attend the United States Coast Guard Academy in New London. He will be sworn in as a member of the Class of 2017 on July 1. Reiser, a graduating senior at Hall High School, is one of less than 300 high school seniors selected for appointments by the Academy, from a pool of more than 2500 applicants.
Located in New London, the Coast Guard Academy is the smallest of the nation’s five military service academies, offering cadets a full-tuition scholarship and monthly stipend for a five-year service commitment to the Coast Guard upon graduation. Graduates receive a Bachelor of Science degree and are guaranteed a position of leadership as a commissioned U.S. Coast Guard officer.
Adam Reiser is the son of Lori and Lance Reiser of West Hartford. He is the grandson of Rita Ginsberg and the late Marvin Ginsberg of West Hartford, and the late Rhoda and Morris Reiser of New London.
