Laurence Sheinman of Wilton and Rhonda Ginsberg of Norwalk will be honored by Jewish Family Service (JFS) on Sunday, Apr. 21 at Temple Beth El in Stamford.
Laurence Sheinman joined the JFS board in 2006 and shortly thereafter became vice president. In 2009, he was elected president, serving for three years. During his tenure, he shepherded JFS through the recession, helping it to create its current five-year strategic plan, designed to lead the agency into the next phase of its development. He is a leading force in the agency’s soon-to-be-launched Cognitive Wellness Initiative. In addition to JFS, he has also been an active volunteer at Congregation Beth El of Norwalk and the United Way, where he has assisted in the organization’s drives, drug counseling programs and blood drives.
An upper school science teacher at Carmel Academy in Greenwich, Rhonda Ginsberg has served on the board of several PTAs, as well as Etgar Hebrew High School. She has held a variety of offices at Hadassah and is a founding member of Chavurah Am Echad.
