Edward Martin, 98, died Feb. 7 in Fall River, Mass after a short illness. He was the husband of the late Muriel Brown Martin. Born in New Britain, he was the son of Joseph Martin and Anna Brachman Martin.  He was married in 1939 to Muriel Brown Martin, whom he met the first week of his freshman year in college. They moved to Rhode Island eighteen years ago, living, first in Warren and more recently in Tiverton. He was a flight surgeon in the U.S. Army Air Force from 1942-1945, spending two years in the South Pacific with the 3rd Attack Group of the 5th Air Force, retiring as a Major. He is survived by his children, Steven Martin (Lynn Blankfort) of Mill Valley, Calif., Margo Grodsky of Boston, and Jeffrey Martin (Barbara Gee) of Portsmouth, R.I.; and his grandchildren Lisa (Rob Delmonico) and Jason Grodsky, Mather (Paul Kuhn), Samara, and Danya Martin.
